Learn the Basics! Tune in for AADMM's Spring Business Basics Course.
The Business Basics Course offered by AADMM is for those who are exploring daily money management as a career, or those who are new to the profession. This is an ideal opportunity to learn the basics, and hear from individuals who are successfully running their own businesses.
The workshop sets forth the components needed to perform the duties of a DMM on a day-to-day basis. At the end of the two days, participants will be able to: explain what DMMs do; identify the traits and skills needed to be an effective DMM; identify the traits and skills needed to be an effective DMM; understand the steps needed to establish or build a client base; and understand the steps needed to jump-start a DMM business.

Instructors

Rebecca Eddy, Eddy and Schein, Daily Money Manager and Founder
Rebecca is a founding partner of Eddy & Schein Group®. She has worked since 1990 with seniors and very high net worth busy professionals, managing their personal, financial, legal, and insurance matters, and coordinating their relationships with their trusted advisors. She acts as a fiduciary for a number of clients and the company works with many executors of estates. Eddy & Schein Group serves the New York City tri-state area where it is recognized as one of the top DMM companies. She is constantly developing ways to improve the internal structure of her 7-person firm, to increase value to their clients and to better inform the public about the services of daily money managers in general, and her company in particular.
Rebecca has an MBA from Yale School of Management and was in the first class of CDMMs. She was the founding president of the AADMM-Greater NY Chapter.
Rebecca won the esteemed “AADMM Board Legacy Award” in 2021 and continues to support AADMM and fellow daily money managers with her ongoing role as a volunteer on the Education Committee. She has been instrumental in helping to shape both the Business Basics and the Business Accelerator courses and continues to teach both. She has also been a speaker at conferences and via webinars.

Cynthia Hoffman, Best Life Advisors, Principal and Founder
Cynthia founded Best Life Advisors in March 2021 to provide concierge-style daily money management, specializing in guiding older adults through transitions or crises. Since its inception, the firm has expanded to a team of three, serving the St. Louis region.
With a B.S. in Accounting from Missouri State and an M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, Cynthia began her career as a CPA before transitioning into roles across the corporate world, commercial real estate, and nonprofit leadership. Her firsthand experience managing complex estates and serving as a guardian ad litem for an elderly woman underscored the need for trusted financial guidance, shaping the foundation of her practice. Systems development remains a core focus as Best Life Advisors continues to grow.
An active member of AADMM, Cynthia has contributed to Alliance Builders and currently serves as co-chair of the Education Committee. She launched and leads the Business Basics Virtual Group, part of AADMM’s Communities of Practice, and has co-taught the Business Basics course since 2023.
Cynthia lives in Washington, Missouri, with her husband of over 30 years, Scott. They have twin sons and recently welcomed a daughter-in-law into the family.

Note: It is recommended that if you do not work with two monitors (one for the Zoom class and one for the training booklet) that you either print off the booklet or register for the printed copy. You will want to see everyone in the class on one screen to allow for the best simulation of a real live classroom.
