Starting a Daily Money Management practice can be both exciting and challenging. AADMM's Business Basics Workshop is designed for individuals exploring daily money management as a career, as well as DMMs in their first few years of business who want to develop sound operational practices, build confidence, reduce risk, and avoid common startup pitfalls.
This interactive workshop provides practical guidance from experienced professionals who have successfully built and managed their own DMM businesses.
Participants will learn the core components of operating a daily money management practice, including client service delivery, business development, professional standards, and essential business operations.
In addition to learning the fundamentals of the profession, attendees will gain practical insights to help establish sound procedures, maintain appropriate client boundaries, and build a sustainable, professional practice.
At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
• Explain the role and scope of a Daily Money Manager.
• Identify the traits, skills, and professional standards needed to be an effective DMM. • Understand key business practices that help reduce risk and support long-term success.
• Develop strategies to establish and grow a client base.
• Identify practical steps to launch, organize, and strengthen a DMM business.
• Apply lessons learned from successful practitioners to avoid common challenges faced by new business owners.
To ensure the highest degree of interaction and personalized discussion, enrollment is limited to 18 participants.
New DMMs are strongly encouraged to register early, as space is limited and this workshop is widely regarded as one of the most valuable investments in developing a strong foundation for long-term success during the critical first 1-3 years of your business.
Note: It is recommended that if you do not work with two monitors (one for the Zoom class and one for the training booklet) that you either print off the booklet or register for the printed copy. You will want to see everyone in the class on one screen to allow for the best simulation of a real live classroom.
Dates: October 2-3, 2026 | 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm ET
- Note: The Zoom will open at 11:45 am ET and instructors will be available until 5:00 pm for Q&A.

Cost:
$575 per attendee (members and non-members) and includes a printed copy of the training booklet.
$500 per attendee (members and non-members) and includes a digital copy of the training booklet.
The deadline for registrations including the printed copy of the training booklet is Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Paula Canaday-Daeke, Fiscally Balanced, LLC, Owner and Founder
As the Owner and Founder of Fiscally Balanced®, I am honored to help clients navigate the daily financial matters that impact their lives. My passion for responsible money management began at an early age, when my parents modeled strong financial habits and my mother helped me open my first savings account at age eight. As a teenager, I created my own budgeting system using the envelope method, and later, a high-interest loan co-signed by my dad to purchase a computer for college taught me firsthand the true cost of borrowing. After college, an unexpected series of car breakdowns and the resulting credit card debt reinforced the importance of emergency savings and disciplined financial planning. I carried those lessons into my technology consulting career, maintaining a detailed budget and paying off my student loans and credit card debt within a few years. Along the way, friends, family, and colleagues increasingly sought my guidance with their own finances, ultimately inspiring me to establish Fiscally Balanced® in 2018.
Today, Fiscally Balanced® provides tailored daily money management support to individuals, families, seniors, adult children, small businesses, busy professionals, travelers, people experiencing life transitions, and fiduciaries. We help clients with budgeting and spending analysis, bill payment, financial organization, and creating more effective financial workflows—providing only the level of support needed, whether for a one-time project or ongoing assistance. My greatest satisfaction comes from helping people develop the skills, systems, and confidence to make responsible financial decisions while reducing the burden of managing everyday financial tasks. I am an active member and previous board member both nationally and locally of the American Association of Daily Money Managers. I currently volunteer as a Dean’s Advisory Board member for Murray State University’s CIS & CS Departments and previously served as a volunteer financial and budgeting coach with multiple non-profit organizations locally. Through Fiscally Balanced®, my goal is to meet each client where they are, tailor solutions to their needs, and help them move toward a more organized, confident, and balanced financial life.
