Internet and information technology are an integral part of our work and personal lives. Sweeping changes caused by new technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, robots, and augmented and virtual reality are now on the horizon. DMMs should understand how information flows in their clients’ financial lives, which may encompass information on their computers, portable devices, portable media and online accounts. In addition, part of their management process, for many and perhaps most clients, will include managing software and online accounts. Finally, DMMs should be informed about when other professionals need to become involved with a client’s finances, including lawyers and computer forensic experts. Participants will learn about changes in technology and how to account for them in their work as DMMs. They will also learn about coordinating efforts with other professionals when it comes to technology.

This session eligible for 1 credit hour of Payroll, Finance, Bookkeeping and Bill Paying toward CDMM® recertification.
