There are two parts of financial planning: Wealth Accumulation and Risk Management. Not enough emphasis is placed on the latter, which places our clients hard-earned wealth at risk. This presentation covers the information that a DMM might need to pull together on behalf of a client when working with a client’s financial planner or attorney in the areas of 1.) structuring property and casualty insurance, 2.) account titling and beneficiary designation considerations, and 3.) looking at key estate documents from a financial perspective.

At the conclusion, participants will have gained an understanding of how to work with a financial advisor and what they would look for from a DMM when structuring property and casualty insurance, and what questions to ask an agent. They will understand how liability affects common account titling, and how inheritances can be subject to future liability. They will also receive a brief overview of what a financial advisor might look for when reviewing estate documents.

* This session eligible for 1 credit hour of Payroll, Finance, Bookkeeping and Bill Paying toward CDMM® recertification.

Intended Audience: Daily Money Managers.
