Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods are increasing in popularity relying on a team method and expertise of neutral parties. DMMs will be provided a working knowledge of these processes and the methods of divorce so they may gain a better understanding of their client situations. While the attorneys are the primary professional advocating for the clients in these methods of divorce, a DMM’s knowledge of process can help the client anticipate the attorney’s/client’s needs and to provide complete and accurate information. DMM will be provided with insights on how to be helpful to their clients in gathering documentation in order to create an asset listing and complete the financial affidavit. Based on the DMMs’ experience and working knowledge of the client, DMMs can assist the client to identify needs that must be met and the resulting anticipated future expenses which is information that is important through the ADR methods.
