Melissa Chapman, GPS Money Matters, Tax Support Specialist
Melissa Chapman recently joined GPS Money matters after an 18-year career with the IRS. She most recently held the position of Local Taxpayer Advocate for the Phoenix, Arizona office of Taxpayer Advocate Service.
In her role, she managed an office of case advocates who worked with Congressional Aides, Senate Staffers, Tax Practitioners and taxpayers, both individual and business owners, to resolve ongoing or urgent tax issues before the IRS.
She has also served as an On the Job-Trainer, Coach, Certified Classroom Instructor and Mentor. Participating in the Congressional Affairs Program, as well as working with Congressional staff on the NTA (National Tax Advocate) Legislative Recommendations was an exciting part of her Tax Advocate role. Prior to her career with IRS, Melissa was a Licensed Residential Real Estate Appraiser and Licensed Real Estate Agent with a business located in Southeast Missouri.
